Open TikTok or Instagram and search for "progress photo tips." Within about thirty seconds you'll find someone explaining optimal angle theory, lighting Kelvin temperatures, and the biomechanics of their specific pose. It's a 3-minute video for a 20-second tip.
That's fitness content in 2026. The information isn't wrong — it's just buried under so much performance that most beginners give up before they get to the useful part.
We wanted to do something different.
Why we built GainFrame Guy
GainFrame tracks your physique through progress photos. The app does a lot of technically sophisticated things under the hood — AI body composition, physique scoring, timeline analysis. But none of that matters if someone doesn't know how to take a decent progress photo in the first place.
So we built a character. GainFrame Guy is our mascot — a quirky, bracket-headed little dude who shows up in illustrated carousels on our TikTok and Instagram. He gets himself into ridiculous gym situations so you don't have to. He overthinks it, ego-lifts, skips calves, and makes every mistake in the book — and then we tell you how to actually do it.
The format is simple: a short illustrated carousel, five to seven slides, one concept per post. No talking head, no 12-minute video, no required backstory. You scroll through in 30 seconds and walk away knowing something useful.
Fitness doesn't need to be complicated. It needs to be consistent. GainFrame Guy exists to help you build that consistency — one simple tip at a time.
What the comics cover
We're publishing a new carousel every week. The topics are deliberately practical — the kind of stuff that actually moves the needle for someone who's 3 months into their gym journey, not someone competing at a national level.
Here's a sample of what we've been making:
New comics drop every week and cover everything from beginner splits to the mental side of training to nutrition myths that refuse to die. The goal is always the same: one concept, explained simply, in 30 seconds of scrolling.

Browse every GainFrame Guy comic on the site — all in one place, no TikTok account needed.
The whole point is to stay in your feed without taking up more than a minute of your time. GainFrame Guy will never ask you to watch a 20-minute video to get to the tip.
Start here if you want to track your progress
The comics are free. The tips are free. If any of this resonates and you want to take your tracking more seriously, GainFrame is the app that does the heavier lifting — AI body composition, physique scoring, and a photo timeline that shows exactly how you're changing over time.
But you don't need the app to benefit from what GainFrame Guy teaches. Start with consistent progress photos. That's it. Everything else follows from that one habit.
One consistent photo per week is worth more than a hundred inconsistent ones. GainFrame Guy's whole thing is helping you build the habits that make the data useful.
